NANCY RABB MAKES $25,000 GIFT TO ROUND ROCK COMMUNITY FOUNDATION
February 4, 2008 - Nancy Rabb, owner of Wag-a-Bag and a 43 year resident of Round Rock, made a $25,000 gift to the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation in the form of an endowment fund. This is the first endowed fund to be created at the Foundation. The corpus of the fund will remain invested in the Foundation, with its earnings being used to fund grants. Rabb has created a donor advised fund and chosen Texas Lutheran University's Kinesiology Department as the beneficiary. Rabb's daughter, Dr. Casi Helbig, is a professor of Kinesiology at Texas Lutheran University and has expressed the need for funding of educational seminars and programming for its students. Rabb, who is serving her second term as Chair of the Board of Governors of the Round Rock Community Foundation, chose to name the new fund the Rabb-Helbig Fund.
"The Community Foundation will issue grant awards to Texas Lutheran University in the name of the Rabb-Helbig Fund. With the establishment of donor advised funds, donors can maintain an active role in recommending grants to programs they wish to support" said Kami Barron, Executive Director of the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation. "Rabb can make an impact in the educational field while the Greater Round Rock Community Foundation handles all the administrative details."
The Greater Round Rock Community Foundation is a local nonprofit organization providing donors a simple, powerful and highly personal approach to giving - enabling their gifts to change lives forever.
